So I've had a leaky boot on the passenger side CV for a while now, but the axle is still solid without any play, so I'm probably going to reboot that side. There's also been a pull to the left which I believe I finally found the source of. WebJun 28, 2024 · Looking around, it doesn't look like anyone makes just a replacement boot, the whole axle shaft has to be replaced. I understand the concerns with replacing the boot, and the potential for CV joint damage, just curious if anyone had done a boot replacement and had suggestions for which boot to use. I know for a while Superior had an issue with their shafts' sealing area being slightly too small for the stock sealds. RCV may have a different requirement. Otherwise a stock Toyota boot, properly installed will last even cranked up with a diff drop. I can't see any reputable company making anything less than a CrMo upgrade axle for a more intense use.
